Hotel Anatolia is a simple indie horror game created with RPGMaker. It is a short, but well thought game based mostly on it's storyline and less focused on it's gameplay. It's 2D pixelated graphics and gameplay are very simple yet enjoyable. The game is tremendously similar to another indie game, The Deed. SO similar in fact, that the characters and graphics are directly imported over! Ignoring that, I still found the game able to pull off being eerie and fun at all times. Will last you a good hour or slightly more. Do enjoy, as I am recommending it to indie gamers alike.. I'd suggest you Save your game repeatedly, because you'll die more times than you'll want to admit. The Grammar isn't.. amazing but it isn't too bad either, unfortunately the story starts off far too quickly and you don't really get a good feel for it. Theres not much you can press or do other than collect items and move, or dodge monsters. Which is a shame really. The game doesn't honestly give you much warning on when to run, you can die very quickly if you choose to help your wife and don't run to the door she goes through within a few seconds. Which is ridiculous but i can see where they were going with this.. but unfortunately it makes the game very tedious.Annoying little bug, if you enter the room before her accidently, she never enters the room and you're alone, you can leave and it'll begin the scene all over again and you'll repeatedly bug back into the bedroom with her never following you.Welcome to Hell.Another not so fun bug, if you go to sleep at the beginning and don't answer the knocks at your door, the game bugs completly and breaks. The woman won't let you in and you can't use the axe because the character has no prompts to work with because you never activated them. The art itself is lovely, i really enjoy intricate work like this, little bits of detail in each corner, tiny items you can't do anything with but complete the room. The characters themselves are also brilliant. The game is painfully short.. and not worth the money.Good try, but its a no from me.. https:\/\/youtu.be\/VCCmjRhA0tsSo this is a rare occurence - I have changed my review from negative to positive becuase the developer has patched this game based on community feedback, and sorted most of the technical issues that I encountered. Also the phone puzzle has been patched so it now much easier to solve. So in a nutshell, hotel anatolia, is a short 'horror' game built on the RPGmaker engine. Obviously that means visuals are nothing too stunning, but they do the job in a workman like way. The puzzle elements are pretty llight and the english translations are far better than most horror games in this price bracket. So 80pence feels like a fair price, now that the bugs have been squashed. Its still not GOTY material but a decent enough time filler.. This game is... different. Whether that is good or bad may be up to the person playing it. It is a short, horror game with puzzles and is atmospheric. Meaning the sounds are very important. For its price, it is good. Do note that the translation might be a bit spotty."Welcome to the Hotel Anatolia. You can check out any time you like. But you can never leave.". Just wanted to drop in and add my 2 cents to this game. I really liked its atmosphere and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Several people hinted at the so-called RPG Maker which was used to put together Hotel Anatolia. This probably explains its simplicity in terms of gameplay and graphics (which is heavily pixelated). This is a horror mystery about a couple checking in to a hotel where, eventually, a murder occurs. Our job then will be to escape. The game can be completed in an hour or so and there are 2 different endings based on a couple of decisions we make along the way. It's worth the 1 EUR it currently costs and can easily be completed 100%.. Even though the game is a little bit short, it has an interesting and scary athmosphere. It reminded me Silent Hill. I think it's worth it's money.. Hotel Anatolia is a little RPGMaker adventure game. Quite short and easy to beat. Achievements were added recently and they're easy to unlock too (just often save the game and try different combos of decisions when given the choice between doing this or that and you should eventually get them all).Nice way to entertain an hour or so, but not enough puzzles for my liking. As far as the horror tag is concerned don't expect any jumpscares!Low replayability value and short game length so maybe get it on sale.
